Boxing

Question by : How is an MMA stance different from a boxing stance? Is it hard to transition from boxing to MMA?
I am boxing now and looking to make the transition pretty soon, I was wondering how difficult I can expect it to be.

Respect from one boxer to another. Anyway MMA stance is going to be tighter and you won’t be able to sit on your punches, also you will have to have to learn how to kick and defend against takedowns…basically a muay thai stance if you want to simplify it. It’s a good stance but like I said you won’t be able to have that form and power that boxing gives you. But trust me most MMA fighters throw a couple of haymakers and take it to the ground. You will, especially with 4 oz gloves, be able to slip a haymaker and tee off on ’em harder than they’ve ever seen. It should be a decently easy transition just make sure that you really want to leave boxing, it’s a beautiful sport.
