Learn how to choose boxing glasses that will teach you how to fight effectively with these tips. Expert: Joe Huston Video transcript: Hello my name is Joe ‘doc Huston and I am here at my friend’s gym in Portland, Oregon to share some tricks, tactics and strategies to help you get the most out of your boxing career. Most people that are interested in boxing classes are the recreational boxers who just want to get that good workout in, and when you go to a boxing class in addition to getting the sweat and the strain and the workout and the music and the skip rope, you should also get the flavor of the sport. So a great teacher will work you through all the elements of a boxing match in a simulated manner. So, when you’re talking to the teacher, you should find out if they have experience in boxing, as a competitor or as a trainer. As well, see if they’re going to be able to walk you through all the elements of boxing. And these elements include not only conditioning and strength, but also timing, vision, coordination. So they should be teaching you a punch that pops, a bob or a weave that gets you out of the way and doesn’t leave you flailing like a fool, and as well, they should work on things like solid footwork, a good stance, and also defensive strategies.
