Two Benefits of a Folding Exercise Bike

The combination of moderate eating and exercise is a surefire formula for losing weight. Moderate eating is defined as not limiting what you eat, but limiting how much you eat. And exercise is defined as an activity accomplished that simulates specific organs of the body. Specifically, these organs could include, individually or collectively, the heart, lungs and muscles of the body.

There are many exercises that can be performed using pieces of equipment that will provide a good aerobic exercise workout and will also work the muscles of the body. Some of these pieces of exercise equipment include weights, treadmill, rowing machine, etc.

Another piece of exercise equipment is an exercise bike. An exercise bike is built with only one wheel or with a system of pulleys. An exercise bike is primarily used indoors. When the person mounts the bike, the pedals are turned as if the person were riding a regular bike. In addition, accessories may include a speedometer and a device that will increase resistance and simulate the riding of a bike uphill. All of these accessories are designed to aid in providing a good exercise workout.

These bikes, available in all sizes and shapes, are equipped with all sorts of bells and whistles. In fact, there is a folding exercise bike that is the designed for the individual who has limited space to exercise. Two of the benefits of a folding exercise bike are the ease of storage and the exercise achieved through its use.

Ease of Storage

A folding exercise bike may be equipped with many accessories. These accessories may include computer functions which display the speed of your cycling, the distance traveled and calories burned. The folding exercise bike is generally equipped with a belt system that is driven by turning the bike¡¯s pedals with the legs and feet. Also, there is attached a seat that can be adjusted to accommodate the length of the legs with the pedal system. In addition, attached to the frame, are the handlebars.

However the best feature of a folding exercise bike is the fact that it will fold together compactly. When folded together, depending upon what model you obtain, the bike will come to an upright position and decrease in spread. This upright position will allow for storage in a closet, under the bed or in an out-of-the-way corner.

The storage benefits of a folding exercise bike can be particularly useful if living in an apartment or other area where space is at a premium. The folding exercise bike would also be great exercise equipment to provide to that college student who is living in a dormitory and away from home.

Exercising

The use of a folding exercise bike will provide the same quality of workout that can be gained from a normal exercise bike. That quality of exercise will include the burning of calories, a good aerobic workout and the strengthening of the leg muscles. If one of your goals in riding an exercise bike is to lose weight, this form of exercise can help you achieve that goal. Stationary bicycling, depending upon how long you bike and at what pace, will burn calories. These results coupled with moderation in diet will help the bicyclist to attain weight lose at healthy pace.

A good aerobic workout is one that will stimulate the heart and the respiratory system. By bicycling on a stationary bike the heart rate will increase and will also cause the lungs to work harder as well. A good aerobic heart and respiratory rate is dependent upon the age, health of the bicyclist and the sustained time of exercise. Another benefit of using the folding exercise bike is the strengthening of the leg muscles. This is because the muscles of the legs are the primary muscles utilized to rotate the petals of the stationary bike.
